Arizona State University has been ranked number one in innovation for eight years in a row, and the industrial design program is part of the largest design school in America.
This semester, we accepted the challenge to join the Salone satellite. In less than three months, we developed a group of projects looking to answer what challenges lie ahead of us, for which our students presented a group of visions for the future for our homes.
Our exhibition FUTURE NEXUS showcases some of the projects developed, understanding that at ASU, our future is based on our strong Research. The sense of collaboration within our university, our leadership in new technologies, our commitment to sustainability, and our understanding of inclusion are pillars of our institution. ASU is a comprehensive public research university, measured not by whom it excludes, but by whom it includes and how they succeed; advancing the discovery of public value and assuming fundamental responsibility for the economic, social, cultural and overall health of the communities it serves.
At The Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University, we are redefining the 21st-century design and arts school. Our college is built on a combination of disciplines unlike any other program in the nation, comprising the Schools of Art; Arts, Media and Engineering; Music, Dance and Theatre; The Design School, The Sidney Poitier New American Film School; and the ASU Art Museum.

Industrial designers at ASU are futurists that go beyond design thinking, not only learning how to ideate, iterate, develop, test, and prototype new e-services, products, or strategies. Still, interdisciplinary leaders who know and learn how to make creative ideas successful projects in the market; in other words, they know how to innovate.
Industrial designers from ASU have a solid commitment to the environment, technology, and all human beings; our designers center their approaches on delivering solutions that are beneficial for society. With a strong sense of humanity, they are empowered by the latest trends and technologies, always looking for a positive impact in every scale!
